100 rules of fashion (25 rules for women)!

It’s a scientific fact that people who don’t know you make up their minds about you on a subliminal/prehistoric basis in 30 seconds or less. To look your best, always be true to yourself and you will present a stylish confident look that will create the right impression for all occasions.

1 A-size-too-small.

Wearing clothes that are too small they simply highlight bulges and can make you look
unappealing and stupid.Buy the size you truly are and not the size you would like to be.

2 Fashion trends that don’t suit you.

Keep in mind your figure and age and only wear items you look good in and not just something because it looks great on someone else.

3 Showing bra & panty lines.

Wear proper fitting undergarments. If they do fit you correctly and you can see lines, then your clothes are simply too tight.Keep your bra straps properly adjusted so they're not visibleIf your jeans and trousers are low-rise, your panties should be too.

4 Using too many colors.

As a general rule wear up to a maximum of three, to be easy on the eye. Too many colors simply will make you look a mess and look like you don’t have any idea of co ordination.

5 Using accessories in correctly.

Finish off with accessories by all means but again less is more. There accessories and should not overpower and highlight your good points. For example with necklaces - Short chains and chokers tend to make your neck appear larger, so don’t do it if this is a an area you don’t want to draw attention to. Also, If you are going out in evening wear make sure your handbag is sleek, sharp and small a big bag with typical evening wear simply does not go!Use accessories that match you look and also be careful they highlight good points and don’t draw attention to bad points.

6 Wearing the Wrong Colors.

To look your best, choose wardrobe colors that complement your skin. Wearing the wrong colors will make your skin appear sallow and lines and wrinkles will be more evident. On the other hand, the right colors will make you look more vibrant and healthy.

7 Too much makeup.

Too much makeup creates a harsh look and makes lines appear deeper. Keep your daytime makeup light and evening makeup a little darker.

8 Chipped nail polish.

The idea of nail polish is to make your nails appear nicer. Chipped polish just brings attention to poor grooming.

9 An old-fashioned hairstyle or messy hair.

Your hairstyle creates a first impression. From your hairstyle, people make judgments about your education level, status, age, and so forth. This doesn't mean their assumptions are correct - they happen instinctively. Make sure it doesn't happen to you. Visit your hairstylist regularly. If your hairstylist has become set in her ways and always cuts your hair in the same way, you may want to try someone new.

10 Messy Shoes.

Take care of your shoes, for they complete your look. Also ensure that your shoes complement your outfit.

11 Roots that show.

If you color your hair, make sure you keep it maintained regularly. There's nothing more distracting than roots that are a different color than the rest of your hair.

12 Mismatched hose.

Match your pantyhose with your shoes or with your pants or skirt.

13 Wearing inappropriate clothes.

For the work environment, avoid flashy clothes (unless you are in a creative field). Do not wear short skirts, (more than 3 inches above the knee) sleeveless tops, plunging necklines, stilettos, too much jewelry, leather pants or skirts, or anything that shimmers.

14 Underarm stains.

These look hideous, especially when you are wearing a white top. The solution to this is a good deodorant or a dress shield.

15 Bulky shoes with feminine dress.

A feminine dress should never be paired with bulky shoes such as thick platforms. This kind of dress deserves a pair of soft, delicate shoes. Anything with a small heel, and even wedges and espadrilles.

16 Following Too Many Fashion Trends

with one outfit can look like you are trying too hard to be fashionable. Instead of creating a fashion-forward look, you may come across as backward, if you tick-off too many boxes. Go for subtle rather than obvious, like a white blouse with a bow or ruffle, and a cinch-waisted belt – three trends in one block, but integrated in such a manner that they look as if they were made for each other.

17 Black Bras Under White Tops

spell tarty and tacky. If wearing white, believe it or not, a beige (skintone) bra will be much less noticeable than a white one.

18 Decorated like a Christmas tree.

Whilst everyone should have a statement piece – a man’s watch, a beautiful cuff or a flashy embellished headband – avoid wearing too much jewelry. Three pieces maximum should be the rule of thumb. If you are wearing chunky eye-catching earrings then give the necklace a miss, but go for a bold bracelet instead. Choose 1 or 2 key pieces to lift and enhance your outfit. Less is more to avoid looking cheap. A woman’s décolletage (the space between her neck and breasts) is a thing of beauty and if you want to attract attention away from the bits you'd like to hide, then use jewelry to its maximum effect in this area.

19 Never wear head-to-toe denim
.

(Silly, maybe, but true nonetheless. You'll look like a convict or a cowboy.)

20 Never wear sneakers with hose.

21 Never tuck your shirt into belted jeans.

22 Never wear pleated jeans.

23 Never match your makeup with your outfit.

24Never overdose on a single fabric

(don't wear nylon bottoms with a nylon top).

25 Adhere to rules 1-24, wa waa alright!

NO MA! NO SHOULDER PADS!

Shoulder pads are a type of fabric-covered padding used in men's and women's clothing to give the wearer the illusion of having broader, and less sloping shoulders.Their use is particularly associated with clothing of the early 1940s and the 1980s.

Shoulder pads originally became popular for women in the 1930s when fashion designer
Elsa Schiaparelli included them in her designs of 1931, and the following year Joan Crawford wore them in the film "Letty Lynton". Shoulder pads made their next appearance in women's clothing in the early 1970s, through the influence of British fashion designer Barbara Hulanicki and her label Biba. Biba produced designs influenced by the styles of the 1930s and 1940s, and so a soft version of the shoulder pad was revived. These styles did not, however, reach mainstream acceptance, and so the popularity was relatively short lived.

During the early 1980s there was a resurgence of interest in the ladies' evening wear styles of the early 1940s.As the decade wore on, shoulder pads became the defining fashion statement of the era. The shoulder pad fashion carried over from the late 1980s with some popularity in the early 1990s, but tastes were changing. Some designers continued to produce ranges featuring shoulder pads into the mid-1990s, but the marketplace had spoken—the styles now looked out of date and were shunned by the young and fashion-conscious.

Growing up i remember how old i always felt everytime mi Ma made me wear a dress with SP's in them...arrrggghhh! i felt so unfashionable.

Today a jacket with high shoulders is an absolute must-have for this fall.
This fall they are the actual trend to serve for a trendy and a powerful woman of today. That trendy item became actual, thanks to Christophe Decarnin, the Creative Manager to the French House of Balmain. It was Decarnin who reincarnated such a recognizable element of the '80s when he launched collections for Spring-Summer 2009 with a line of military-styled jackets and dresses with shoulder pads....

The modern shoulder pads are very different from the discarded ‘80s versions. The modern shoulder pad is more narrow and sloping, resembling a shoulders of a elegant and thin woman. Shoulder pads have also trickled down into celebrities closets, fashionistas everywhere have applauded them. Shoulder pads have been seen on celebrities such as Beyonce, Victoria Beckam, Kim Khadasian, Rihanna, American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert and of course Miss Gaga herself.

Lady Gaga showed up at the launch of her new CD dressed as the Hunchback of Notra Dame. Oh wait, those are just shoulder pads....This must have been what i saw when i screamed NO MA NO SHOULDER PADS....wanna wear shoulder pads pls dnt wear this..

HOW TO WEAR SHOULDER PADS
: as a jacket on a pair of skinny jeans with a tank-top or turtle neck or t-shirt underneath: as a pencil dress short,knee-length or long: as a top on a pair of skinny jeans or mini-skirt.Whatever way you rock this please dont wear SP's on big clothing:loose jeans, boyfriend jeans, flowing skirts or dresses are a no-no..the SP is overstating the outfit already.

With the resurrection of shoulder pads, skinny jeans, leggings, acid wash jeans, and bondage dresses, the ‘80s are definitely back. xoxo

SURI IN HEELS?

First we spotted Suri Cruise wearing heels in September and then again in October *2wice*, its starting to look like shoes with height are a major in 3year old Suris wardrobe....is this going to be a trend? In her defence Mommy Katie says "Suri wears heels because she likes them"...*eyes wide-open*IS SHE PLAYING? i liked climbing trees as a child but you didn't see my mum buying me a tree(if it were possible)I'm no monkey...we all liked weird things as kids but if children were allowed to do everything they wanted the world might be crazier than it already is...so Katie nah ah..not working. xoxo
MISS RIRI BABY!!!!

Robyn Rihanna Fenty has gone beyond the music into a world where she alone determines what works and what doesnt. Her fashion sense is complelty unique to her.She is a walking magazine, and should have stores where only rihanna-styled clothes are sold.Gone are the cotton candy colors and barbie doll hair she wore in 2006.She has a much darker and edgier look.Shes evolving everyday. With her change of hair came an almost instantaneous change of style for the world. She is fast becoming a fashion-icon.She has pulled off a variety of tricky looks.

This is in so many ways fresh and new।Guys are wearing the shoulder pad now oh...Im loving the entire outfit।i wont be caught wearing the leather pants though but she rocks the look. Not that much makeup going on, shes going nude with red lipstick.Effortless!!And the hair ...thew mad but im not gonna be rocking that anytime soon either.Still shes proven that theres no fear of fashion risks for her.

The more popular she became the more outlandish her attire.By sporting a long angled bob and sheer black gloves, Rihanna showed the trendsetters at the 2007 Costume Institute gala how to make an evening gown look edgy

For the 3rd Annual DKMS Linked Against Leukemia Gala at Cipriani Rihanna arrived dressed to kill in a metallic top and platform boots, from this Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 09/10 collection। Eveything works...With a shoulder pad top, dont rock them on heels unless you're out at night (in nigeria at least)।She definitely takes the 'big shoulders" trend seriously.

What can i say..This is risque and "do not try this at home".Theres a reason its called making a fashion statement.shes taking no prisoners on this ओने

How to dress like rihanna for less...nothing difficult.Get a pair of skinny jeans, a tank top, cropped jacket, a bag (obviously) and killer ankle boots. Its actually the shoes that made this outfit so spend more on your shoes.

Rihanna is one of our most stylish stars of
2009
